Program Overview
The Certificate in Midwifery (CM) program at the Meridian Institute of Nursing and Health Professionals is a comprehensive 2 ½-year course spanning five semesters, fully aligned with the standards of the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC). This program is designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for professional midwifery practice, emphasizing maternal and newborn care.

Our program follows a competency-based approach to midwifery education, ensuring that students acquire essential skills required by UNMC. The curriculum includes courses in maternal health, neonatal care, and family health education, preparing students for diverse midwifery roles.
Practical Clinical Training
Students gain real-world experience through supervised clinical placements at partnered health facilities, such as Kayunga Referral Hospital and Wakiso Health Centre IV. These placements provide practical skills in maternal and newborn care, allowing students to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
